AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 7, Chapter 51, Part 14, relative to adult-oriented establishments.

As introduced, expands the definition of "adult-oriented establishment", for purposes of imposing certain requirements, to include commercial establishments that offer sexually oriented material, devices, or paraphernalia, adult cabaret entertainment, or specified sexual activities, but for which such materials, devices, paraphernalia, entertainment, or activities are not the principal or predominant stock or trade. - Amends TCA Title 7, Chapter 51, Part 14.

AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 49, relative to education instruction.

As introduced, clarifies that local education agencies and public charter schools shall instruct students about the formation of the governments of the United States and Tennessee using federal and state foundational documents at the appropriate grade level and consistent with social studies standards adopted by the state board. - Amends TCA Title 49.

As introduced, prohibits a healthcare facility from authorizing a licensed healthcare professional from performing a drug or alcohol test or screen on a patient who is pregnant, less than one year postpartum, or a newborn without written and oral consent; allows for a drug or alcohol test or screen to be performed without the consent of the patient in certain listed situations. - Amends TCA Title 33; Title 63 and Title 68.

AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 49, Chapter 4, Part 9, relative to higher education.

As introduced, allows a private postsecondary institution that is a candidate for accreditation by a regional accrediting association and that has its primary campus domiciled in this state to serve as an institution at which a student may be enrolled for purposes of receiving financial aid funded using net proceeds of the state lottery. - Amends TCA Title 49, Chapter 4, Part 9.
