SB1570 amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 44, to establish procedures for indemnity payments for animals destroyed under the authority of this chapter. The commissioner is tasked with promulgating these rules, and payments are subject to fund availability, based on the value of the destroyed animal. The commissioner may deny payments to owners violating relevant laws. The bill also changes the entity responsible for indemnity payments from the animal owner to the state.
