Rhode Island

Authorizes the City of Central Falls to issue bonds and notes in an amount not exceeding $25,000,000 to finance the construction, renovation, improvement, alteration, repair furnishing and equipping of schools and school facilities in the city.

COURTS AND CIVIL PROCEDURE -- COURTS -- DISTRICT COURT - Moves North Kingstown from the third division of the district court to the fourth division to better balance case workloads among the divisions.

TAXATION -- PERSONAL INCOME TAX - Eliminates the age requirement for modification on Social Security income.

TOWNS AND CITIES -- GENERAL POWERS - Authorizes the city of Cranston to establish a housing division within its municipal court.

STATE AFFAIRS AND GOVERNMENT -- OFFICE OF INSPECTOR GENERAL - Establishes the office of inspector general to investigate the management and operation of agencies in an effort to prevent and deter fraud, waste, abuse and mismanagement in the expenditure of public funds.

FOOD AND DRUGS -- SANITATION IN FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS - Adds pickles and relish to those foods not requiring refrigeration which are permitted to be manufactured and sold as a farm home food product.

TOWNS AND CITIES -- GENERAL POWERS - Authorizes the city of Cranston to establish a housing division within its municipal court.

EDUCATION -- BUILDING OPPORTUNITIES IN OUT-OF-SCHOOL TIME - Provides $100,000 to support the mental health and emotional well-being of children in OST settings.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES -- RETAIL LICENSES - Allows for the issuance of a Class BV liquor license for the property located at 819 Westminster Street in the city of Providence.

COURTS AND CIVIL PROCEDURE -- PROCEDURE GENERALLY -- FEES - Increases the fees charged for filings and writs of execution in the district court, superior court and family court.

HEALTH AND SAFETY -- SENSITIVE HEALTHCARE INFORMATION PRIVACY ACT - Creates the sensitive healthcare information privacy act.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES -- RETAIL LICENSES - Allows for the issuance of a Class BV license for the property located at 1706 Mineral Spring Avenue in the town of North Providence.

STATE AFFAIRS AND GOVERNMENT -- STATE POLICE - Amends the pension benefits for both current and former Rhode Island State Police members.

COURTS AND CIVIL PROCEDURE -- PROCEDURE GENERALLY -- CAUSES OF ACTION - Amends what is considered sexual abuse for purposes of limitations on actions based on sexual abuse or exploitation of a child and would amend the provisions for when a cause of action may be brought.

STATE AFFAIRS AND GOVERNMENT -- DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES - Establishes a procedure to permit DCYF to apply for benefits on behalf of children, who are eligible, that are within temporary custody or guardianship of the department.

STATE AFFAIRS AND GOVERNMENT -- DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES - Mandates DCYF protection for benefits owed to foster children.

Proposes a bond measure to authorize the Town of Jamestown to issue up to three million dollars ($3,000,000) in general obligation bonds, subject to voter approval, to support affordable housing projects in Jamestown.
