Chamber Passed·2/24/26

Modernizes Federal firearms laws to exempt certain less-than-lethal projectile devices from restrictions.

The Law-Enforcement Innovate to De-Escalate Act of 2025 amends Federal firearms laws to exempt certain less-than-lethal projectile devices from restrictions. It defines a "less-than-lethal projectile device" as one not designed to expel ammunition at over 500 feet per second, not likely to cause death or serious injury, and not accepting certain ammunition feeding devices. The Attorney General must determine if a device meets this definition within 90 days of a request.
