Medical Debt Mitigation Amendment Act of 2025As introduced, Bill 26-438 would, among other things, require facilities to offer payment plans to low-income patients with unpaid medical bills and prohibit the reporting of medical debt to credit reporting agencies. It would prohibit wage garnishments, home liens for medical debt and prohibit lawsuits and collection actions in certain cases. It would also establish uniform income eligibility criteria and require documentation to prove income. It would require facilities to provide good faith estimates about the cost of health care services to patients before treatment, except in emergency circumstances. It would also grant enforcement power to DC Health and the Office of the Attorney General.

Judith Heumann Memorial Workers with Disabilities Act of 2025As introduced, Bill 26-463 would establish a District Workers with Disabilities program for employed individuals with disabilities who meet specific eligibility requirements to enroll in Medicaid. It authorizes the Department of Health Care Finance to administer the program.

Prenatal and Postpartum Remote Patient Monitoring Clarification Amendment Act of 2025As introduced Bill 26-356 would cover and reimburse remote patient monitoring of specific health care service and expenses for pregnant patients. The services include monitoring blood pressure and blood glucose levels during pregnancy and up to 12 months postpartum.

Housing with Integrity Amendment Act of 2025As introduced, Bill 26-287 would, among other things, authorize the Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection to deny the issuance of a basic business license to a person, business entity, or beneficial owner who has an ownership interest in a rental property with outstanding Class 1 and or Class 2 housing code violations.
