An Act Concerning Special Elections To Fill Vacancies Due To The Death Of Certain Elected Officials.

To provide that whenever a vacancy occurs in an elective office due to the death of the person holding such office, the Governor shall wait at least seven days before issuing writs of election to fill such vacancy at a special election.

An Act Concerning The Suspension Of An Operator's License For Repeatedly Failing To Stop For A School Bus.

To suspend the operator's license of a person who has repeatedly violated state law requiring a motor vehicle to stop for a school bus that is displaying flashing red signal lights.

An Act Concerning Consumer Safeguards For Long-term Care Policies.

To establish consumer safeguards for purchases of long-term care insurance policies.

An Act Concerning Justices Of The Peace.

To (1) require the Secretary of the State to publish a manual concerning the duties of justices of the peace, (2) prohibit misconduct by justices of the peace, (3) specify that a newly created office of justice of the peace may be filled by appointment prior to the next regular election, (4) require a forty-eight hour waiting period before the issuance of a marriage license, and (5) establish a working group concerning justices of the peace.
