Creating the Vape Safety Act

The purpose of this bill is to create the "Vape Safety Act."

Permitting teachers to wear a “mobile alert button” for emergency situations, to be known as “Alyssa’s Law.”

The purpose of this bill is to clarify the definition of a disabled veteran taxpayer.

The purpose of this bill is to authorize the director of Natural Resources to propose legislative rules changing indexing of license and stamp fees.

Approving short-term training programs for eligibility for federal Workforce Pell Grants

The purpose of this bill is to codify federal law and give the Governor, via the West Virginia Workforce Development Board, approval of short-term training programs for eligibility for federal Workforce Pell Grants.

Permitting certain use of county-owned wireless tower

The purpose of this bill is to permit county commissions to lease, rent, or permit the use of a county owned wireless tower or any portions thereof, with exceptions.

Establishing disaster repair and recovery effort tax credit for taxpayers subject to severance and business privilege tax in certain circumstances

The purpose of this bill is to create a credit against the severance tax to encourage private companies to assist with repair and recovery efforts following disasters in this state. The bill limits the total amount of repair and recovery effort credits which can be certified by the Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection. The bill requires the Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection and the Tax Commissioner to propose legislative rules and emergency legislative rules for promulgation to implement the provisions of the bill The bill will increase economic opportunity in this state. The bill authorizes the claiming of the credits. Finally, the bill provides for an effective date.

Modifying priority of insurance coverage for drivers of certain vehicles provided by entities

The purpose of this bill is to modify the priority of insurance coverage for persons operating a vehicle for the purpose of test driving or loaned out by the seller of a vehicle to be consistent with federal law governing insurance coverage for rental vehicles.

To remove Mortmain restrictions on religious organizations

The purpose of this bill is to remove "Mortmain" restrictions on religious organizations.

Relating to Secretary of State annual reports, fees, and veteran-owned business logotypes

The purpose of this bill is to allow the Secretary of State to charge a fee of up to $5 plus any amount passed on by a financial institution for any returned or dishonored check, money order, or draft. This fee covers the administrative costs for handling the returned item. The bill allows the Secretary of State discretion to waive late fees under certain circumstances. The bill provides that the Secretary of State shall design and provide a veteran-owned logotype.

Relating to civil remedies for the unauthorized disclosure of intimate images.

The purpose of this bill is to clarify the civil cause of action for disclosure of intimate images.

Creating the Recharge West Virginia Program

The purpose of this bill is to establish the Recharge West Virginia Program, which reimburses West Virginia employers for the costs of upskilling their workforces. To be eligible for reimbursement, an employee must have received a 25% wage increase as a result of the upskilling training, and the wage must be above the average weekly West Virginia wage, as published by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Each employer may receive $10,000 per trainee, and no employer may receive more than $50,000 during any fiscal year.

The purpose of this bill is to rename the intervention and prevention program, clarify the definitions of the program, and update the code with the renamed program.

The purpose of this bill generally relates to professionals to be licensed by the West Virginia Board of Medicine.

Relating to college campus safety

The purpose of this bill is to modify school safety mapping data to include colleges and universities.

Relating to necessity allowance

The purpose of this bill is to set forth requirements for foster child clothing allowances.

Skills to work

The purpose of this bill is to clarify the categories of employment which are prohibited or authorized for persons in West Virginia who are under the age of 18 and to clarify youth apprenticeships prohibited or authorized in such categories of employment and to be known as "The Workforce Development Act of 2026".

The purpose of this bill is to require value-based contracting for substance use disorder, to require value-based outcomes for grants, and requires a state plan amendment to the extent necessary.

Relating to peer support services

The purpose of this bill is to allow for privileged testimonial communications between a peer support team member and an individual receiving peer support services or advice from the team member.
