The purpose of this bill is to remove a significant barrier for families by ensuring that students receive timely educational support through allowing nurse practitioners and physicians assistants, as well as physicians, to certify eligibility for homebound services.

The purpose of this bill is to allow the appointment of more than one chief deputy by the sheriff.

Removing physical education requirements for certain middle and high school athletes

The purpose of this bill is to provide that students participating in good standing in an extracurricular sport are not required to comply with the statutory middle school and high school physical education requirements.

West Virginia First Live Racing Jobs Act of 2026

The purpose of this bill is to provide West Virginia Certified Thoroughbred eligibility, reallocate interstate simulcasts by licensed racetracks, increase West Virginia Restricted race caps, provide inflation adjustment to the net terminal income at a licensed racetrack deposited in the state Excess Lottery Revenue Fund and reallocate a certain amount of said income to the thoroughbred and greyhound development funds at the licensed racetracks of origin.

Extending authority to state spending units

The purpose of this bill is to extend the authority of the purchasing director, who may utilize best value procurement, to state spending units when they determine that it is in the best interest of the state.

Relating to requirements for school nutrition programs

The purpose of this bill is to set forth a list of additives to be excluded from a school nutrition program and to set forth requirements for sugar, a fiber to carbohydrate ratio, and to require a posting of menu ingredients.

Prohibition on cell-cultured products

The purpose of this bill is to prohibit the sale of cell-cultured food products.

The purpose of this bill is to permit the development of juvenile treatment beds in Cabell County.

The purpose of this bill is to create the West Virginia Timely Transplant Referral and Veteran Care Coordination Act.

The purpose of this bill is to create the Taxpayer Transparency in Education Act; requiring the timely reporting of county school boards and prohibiting a county board from receiving discretionary state funding if it fails to provide the required published statement.

The purpose of this bill is to create the crime of child torture.

Relating to confidentiality of certain records pertaining to adults and facility residents

The purpose of this bill is to clarify permissible disclosures of confidential records to certain governmental entities and to set forth a procedure for the limited disclosure and use of confidential records in administrative hearings.

Relating to general powers of PSC

The purpose of this bill is to clarify when the Public Service Commission can approve utility rate increases.

Requiring state agencies give first consideration to veterans and disabled law-enforcement officers when hiring

The purpose of this bill is to require that a state agency or an appointing authority of the state give first consideration to disabled law enforcement officers when considering applicants for employment with the state.

Relating to Decentralized Unincorporated Nonprofit Associations

The purpose of this bill is to make decentralized unincorporated nonprofit associations a recognized legal entity in the state and create the Decentralized Unincorporated Nonprofit Association Act.

Relating generally to medical cannabis

The purpose of this bill is to improve patient safety in the medical cannabis program by authorizing permitted, regulated medical cannabis processors to manufacture medical cannabis in edible form for dispensing to certified patients in the state; to specify certain requirements applicable to medical cannabis dispensed in edible form; and to require information relating to the dispensing of medical cannabis be input into the controlled substance monitoring database.

The purpose of this bill is to modify the requirements for the licensure of radon mitigators, testers, contractors, and laboratories.
