The purpose of this bill is to establish a food desert program to provide communities with access to fresh and affordable produce.

The purpose of this bill is to codify the guidelines for nutritionally adequate school breakfasts and lunches within Title 7 of the Code of Federal Regulations, as well as the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

Second Look Sentencing Act

The purpose of this bill is to provide a procedure for modification of a prison sentence when a person has served at least 10 years of a sentence.

Exempting certain physicians from specified traffic laws when responding to emergencies

The purpose of this bill is to permit physicians to be exempt from specified traffic laws when responding to an emergency call. This proposed bill provides that the physician must continue to exercise due care and provides for rulemaking.

Creation of the MOBILE ID.

The purpose of this bill is to create the MOBILE ID Act and to establish the Mobile Outreach for Bound or Immobile Lifelong Ensurance of Identification Program within the Division of Motor Vehicles.

Authorizing municipal fire departments specialized license plates

The purpose of this bill is to authorize the Division of Motor Vehicles to issue special motor vehicle plates for municipal fire department vehicles.

Relating to drug scheduling

The purpose of this bill is to remove certain substances from schedule I of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act, including marihuana, Psilocybin, and Tetrahydrocannabinols.

The purpose of this resolution is to amend the state constitution to provide that all children of this state are entitled to a free early childhood education.

Remove felonies from reason to disqualify from voting

The purpose of this bill is to remove the prohibition on persons convicted of certain felonies from voter registration and to allow persons to re-register to vote following completion of their sentence or pardon; requiring the Division of Corrections to notify persons of their renewed eligibility to vote upon release; and requiring the Division of Probation to notify persons of their renewed voter eligibility upon discharge.

Relating to addressing School Discipline in Public Schools

The purpose of this bill is to itemize additional disciplinary issues to be addressed by the Department of Education and reports to the Legislative Oversight Commission on Education Accountability. It also requires the Department of Education to include discipline data on its dashboard for public access.

The purpose of this bill is to allow voters 65 and older to vote absentee.

Relating to balancing urban and rural sewage treatment needs

The purpose of this bill is to amend the requirements for mandatory connections to public sewer systems in both municipalities and public service districts by providing exceptions for properties with functional septic systems in rural or less densely populated areas, while allowing mandatory connections in urban or densely populated areas where septic systems are impractical. It provides an exemption if the connection distance exceeds 200 feet, incorporates objective inspection standards from the National Association of Wastewater Technicians (NAWT), extends the notice period for non-connection penalties to 90 days, removes the ability to bill for sewer services not provided, and provides for financial assistance to homeowners on fixed or limited incomes who are required to connect, citing changes to §8-18-22 and §16-13A-9 to add provisos for exceptions and assistance.
