H.R.7418

Converts presidential election campaign funding to grants for state election security.

The STEADFAST Act converts the program of public financing of presidential election campaigns into a program of providing grants to states for enhancing election security. It establishes an Election Security Fund to receive designated income tax payments. States can use these funds for activities such as acquiring voting equipment, cybersecurity efforts, and purchasing paper ballots. The bill also mandates that states use paper ballots that allow voters to verify their votes and serve as a paper trail for audits.
