Prohibits the Secretary of Energy from enforcing energy efficiency standards for manufactured housing.
The Affordable Housing Over Mandating Efficiency Standards Act, also known as the Affordable HOMES Act, prohibits the Secretary of Energy from enforcing energy efficiency standards applicable to manufactured housing. This bill repeals the authority to establish such standards under the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007. It also nullifies the final rule titled “Energy Conservation Program: Energy Conservation Standards for Manufactured Housing” published by the Department of Energy on May 31, 2022.
