Exempts slaughter and preparation of meat at custom facilities from federal inspection if done for intrastate distribution.

The PRIME Act Processing Revival and Intrastate Meat Exemption Act amends the Federal Meat Inspection Act to exempt the slaughter of animals and the preparation of carcasses at custom slaughter facilities from federal inspection if the meat is intended for intrastate distribution. This means that the meat can only be distributed to household consumers within the state, restaurants, hotels, boarding houses, grocery stores, or other establishments involved in meal preparation or selling meat directly to consumers in the state.
