Introduced·2/4/25
Introduced Text

Ohio applies to Congress for a Convention of the States to propose fiscal restraint amendments.

The Ohio General Assembly applies to Congress for a Convention of the States to propose amendments imposing fiscal restraints on the federal government, limiting its power and jurisdiction, and restricting terms of office for federal officials and Members of Congress. The application requires two-thirds of state legislatures to agree on the same purpose. The convention would consider only specified topics and would not alter the Bill of Rights. The Ohio General Assembly reserves the right to instruct and recall its delegates.
