S.Con.Res.7

Urge Congress reissue DoD Civilian Retiree Identification Cards

Chamber Passed·4/2/25

Ohio Senate urges Congress to reissue Civilian Retiree Identification Cards for retired DoD personnel.

The Ohio Senate urges Congress to reissue Civilian Retiree Identification Cards for retired civilian Department of Defense personnel. These cards, which were stopped from being issued in February 2023 due to the federal REAL ID Act, previously allowed retirees to easily access military recreational areas. Now, retirees must request access from installation commanders and present a REAL ID-compliant driver's license and retirement documentation, which is seen as more onerous.
