Introduced Text

Ohio SB349 allows advertising devices to be placed closer to highway system interchanges.

Ohio SB349 amends section 5516.03 of the Revised Code to allow advertising devices to be placed closer to highway system interchanges. The bill requires the director of transportation to adopt rules governing the spacing criteria for advertising devices, with a minimum distance of four hundred feet from an interchange or proposed interchange of a highway on the interstate system or primary system. The rules must be consistent with customary outdoor advertising use, safety of the traveling public, and national policy. Municipal ordinances regulating advertising devices remain in effect.
