Chamber Passed·11/19/25

Ohio SB34 mandates the display of historical documents in public school classrooms.

The Ohio Historical Educational Displays Act requires school boards to display at least one historical document in each classroom. Acceptable documents include the Mayflower Compact, the Declaration of Independence, the Northwest Ordinance, the Ten Commandments, the Magna Carta, the Bill of Rights, the United States Constitution, and the Articles of Confederation. Boards may also erect monuments or markers inscribed with these documents. The act does not require school boards to spend their own funds for these displays.
