Ohio SB246 prohibits electric and gas companies from terminating service to certain households from November 15 to April 15.

Ohio SB246 amends the Revised Code to prohibit electric and gas companies from terminating service to certain households from November 15 to April 15. Exceptions include safety reasons, tampering with equipment, or theft. Companies must notify the department of any intended terminations and provide written notice to tenants if the landlord is responsible for payment. Companies must also inform occupants of available state and federal aid for utility bills and home weatherization.
