Introduced Text

Ohio SB118 amends laws on municipal liens for unpaid water, sewer, and disposal services.

Ohio SB118 amends sections of the Ohio Revised Code to establish limitations on the recovery and lien imposition by municipalities against property owners of non-owner-occupied properties for unpaid water, sewer, and disposal services rates and charges. It repeals certain sections and enacts new provisions, including requirements for municipal authorities to attempt collection of unpaid charges multiple times before placing a lien. It also sets conditions for the imposition of liens, including the requirement for the municipal authority to wait 180 days after the charges are due.
