HB955

Expand homestead exemption - disabled veteran's surviving spouse

Introduced·5/27/26
Introduced Text

Expands homestead exemption for surviving spouses of disabled veterans in Ohio.

This bill expands the homestead exemption in Ohio to include the surviving spouses of disabled veterans. The exemption reduces real property taxes on the homestead of the surviving spouse for each tax year an application is approved, continuing until the spouse dies or remarries. The reduction applies to only one homestead owned and occupied by the surviving spouse. The bill also repeals existing sections of the Revised Code related to these tax reductions.
