Introduced Text

Ohio HB911 restricts the location of commercial apiaries within three miles of existing ones.

Ohio HB911 amends the Revised Code to restrict the establishment of new commercial apiaries within three miles of existing ones. Exceptions include obtaining permission from the existing apiary owner, non-commercial use, fewer than ten hives, or if the existing apiary is not commercial. The bill also mandates annual registration of apiaries with the director of agriculture, including the exact location, and requires identification numbers to be posted in a conspicuous location.
