Ohio HB850 temporarily reduces motor fuel tax rates to combat rising fuel prices.

Ohio HB850 temporarily reduces motor fuel tax rates to combat rising fuel prices. The temporary reduction period begins on the first day of the first month after the effective date and ends on the last day of the third month. During this period, the tax on gasoline is reduced by half, and the tax on compressed natural gas and other motor fuels is reduced by a quarter. The director of agriculture is prohibited from distributing fuel tax notices during this period. The revenue from the tax during the temporary reduction period will still be distributed as required by law.
