Ohio HB767, known as the Ohio Menopause, Perimenopause, and Hormone Therapy Coverage Act, requires insurance and Medicaid to cover treatments for menopause, perimenopause, and menopausal symptoms. This includes hormone therapy and nonhormonal treatments approved by the FDA, as well as treatments not approved by the FDA when approved treatments are ineffective or contraindicated. The act also mandates that these treatments not be considered elective or cosmetic and prohibits cost-sharing requirements that exceed those for other medical benefits.
