Introduced Text

Ohio HB652 amends time frames for insurance policy nonrenewal notifications.

Ohio HB652 modifies the time frames for insurance policy nonrenewal notifications. It mandates that insurers send written notices of nonrenewal at least thirty days before the expiration date for commercial property, commercial fire, and commercial casualty insurance policies. For personal lines policies, including homeowners insurance, the notice must be sent at least sixty days before the expiration date. If the notice is sent less than sixty days before the expiration date, the coverage remains in effect until sixty days after the notice is sent, unless the insured accepts the nonrenewal.
