Ohio HB63 requires the Ohio Department of Transportation to install and maintain security cameras at rest stops.

Ohio HB63 amends the Ohio Revised Code to mandate the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to install and maintain a system of security cameras at each rest area under its jurisdiction. The installation must be completed by June 30, 2031. ODOT must consult with the director of public safety and the attorney general to determine an appropriate schedule for the installation and maintenance of these security cameras. This measure aims to enhance safety at rest stops for travelers.
