Ohio HB619 amends the Revised Code to allow the board of elections to conduct meetings through video conference or other electronic means, provided the meetings comply with existing requirements. The bill specifies that the board must meet biennially to organize, select a chairperson, and choose a director and deputy director. If no director is chosen after five ballots, the secretary of state will select one from the nominees. The board can also decide to not employ a deputy director. The bill repeals the existing section 3501.09 of the Revised Code and replaces it with these new provisions.
