Ohio HB594 amends the Ohio Revised Code to require school districts and students to complete at least one unit of computer science in grades eight through twelve. Beginning with the 2028-2029 school year, districts must offer at least one computer science course in each school building that enrolls students in grades nine through twelve. Districts and schools offering computer science courses for the first time must notify parents of the new course offering.
