Introduced·2/4/25
Introduced Text

Ohio HB49 allows for the creation of water improvement districts to facilitate water projects.

Ohio HB49 allows for the creation of water improvement districts by county boards of commissioners. These districts can facilitate, coordinate, fund, finance, construct, reconstruct, or repair water projects. They can issue bonds to finance these projects, with bond service charges payable solely from pledged revenues. The districts can also levy special assessments on benefited properties. An appeals board is created to handle appeals related to district actions. The bonds issued by these districts are not considered a debt or pledge of the state's credit.
