Introduced·8/7/25
Introduced Text

Allows village to contract with county prosecutor for legal services

This bill amends Ohio law to allow a village to contract with the county prosecutor for legal services. Specifically, if a village adopts a resolution, the mayor can appoint an attorney or law firm as legal counsel for the village with approval from the legislative authority. The contract can provide for payment of a fee to the prosecutor for legal services. The compensation paid by the village for legal services cannot exceed the annual compensation of the prosecutor for that county.
