Ohio HB398 amends the law to allow emergency medical technicians (EMTs) to perform certain nonemergency medical services in hospitals under specific conditions. EMTs can perform nonemergency services in any hospital area, but must follow hospital privileges. In the emergency department or while moving patients, EMTs can perform emergency services under a physician, physician assistant, or registered nurse. EMTs can also obtain vital signs and transport patients within the hospital.
