Ohio HB317 prohibits public entities from purchasing or operating drones made by certain foreign entities.

Ohio HB317 amends the state's Revised Code to prohibit public entities from purchasing or operating drones made by a "covered foreign entity." A covered foreign entity includes those listed on U.S. government trade restriction lists, those domiciled in China or Russia, those under the influence of those governments, and their affiliates. The ban on purchases takes effect immediately, while the ban on operation begins May 1, 2027.
