Create the Ohio Sports Commission

Establishes the Ohio Sports Commission to promote sports tourism and economic development.

The bill creates the Ohio Sports Commission within the Department of Development to enhance the quality of life through sports tourism. The Commission will partner with various stakeholders to attract and host sporting events. The board of commissioners, consisting of seventeen members appointed by the governor and legislative leaders, will study sports tourism, develop policy recommendations, and explore a new grant program for emerging sports economies. The Commission will be funded through the Ohio Sports Commission Fund.
