Ohio HB189 establishes a statewide behavioral threat management process for public and chartered nonpublic schools.

Ohio HB189 amends the Revised Code to implement a statewide behavioral threat management process for public and chartered nonpublic schools. The Department of Public Safety, in consultation with the Department of Education and Workforce, will develop a standardized process for identifying, assessing, managing, and monitoring potential and real threats to schools. This process includes the creation of a threat management portal for digitizing behavioral threat assessment documents. Schools must use this portal and comply with quarterly audits.
