Ohio HB183 amends the state's boating laws to allow operators of vessels towing water skiers, barefoot skiers, or those on surfboards to use a rearview mirror as an alternative to having an additional person on board for observation. The rearview mirror must provide a wide field of vision to the rear, enabling the operator to observe the activities of the person being towed. The operator must still observe the traffic pattern toward which the vessel is approaching. This change repeals the existing requirement for an additional observer in the vessel.
