HB144

Enact Keith's Law regarding the communication disability database

Complete·1/19/26

Keith's Law expands Ohio's communication disability database to include all disabilities and makes it accessible to emergency responders.

Keith's Law amends Ohio's Revised Code to expand the communication disability database to include any person with a disability. It allows parents, guardians, or individuals diagnosed with a communication disability to register for inclusion in the database. The database will be accessible to law enforcement, emergency medical service personnel, and firefighters through countywide 9-1-1 systems and law enforcement automated data systems. The law also allows individuals or their representatives to request removal from the database.
