Ohio HB139 introduces requirements for the inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire hydrant systems. The state fire marshal must ensure these activities follow the state fire code and national fire protection association standards. Fire hydrants must be inspected annually and after each operation, with flow tests and maintenance conducted annually. Fire service main piping strainers require inspection and maintenance after each use. Records of tests, repairs, and maintenance must be kept for at least one year and made available for inspection.
