Ohio HB1 amends property acquisition laws to restrict certain entities from purchasing agricultural land.

Ohio HB1, known as the Ohio Property Protection Act, amends sections of the Ohio Revised Code to restrict certain entities from acquiring agricultural land. Prohibited entities include governments of foreign adversaries, citizens of such countries, businesses headquartered in these countries, and individuals or entities directly or indirectly controlled by them. The act also restricts agents, trustees, or fiduciaries of these entities from purchasing such land. Exceptions apply for property acquired by devise or descent.
