The "Count me out!: Ending New York funding of designated foreign terrorist organizations act" makes it illegal for not-for-profit corporations to knowingly provide material support or resources to designated foreign terrorist organizations. The state attorney general can recover a civil penalty of at least one million dollars for violations. Individuals who are harmed by such violations can also bring a civil action against the responsible parties. The act defines "material support or resources" broadly to include any property, service, or other asset except medicine or religious materials.
