Allows volunteer firefighters in New York to receive stipends for responding to calls and standby services.

This bill amends the general municipal law to allow an authority having jurisdiction over a volunteer fire department or fire company to provide volunteer firefighters with a stipend for responses to calls and for certain standby services. Volunteer firefighters may receive a reasonable mileage allowance for travel to emergency calls and may be reimbursed for travel expenses. They may also receive a stipend for each call they respond to, which should not exceed 20% of the amount paid by a public agency for similar services.
