New York S10350 allows public employees to use accrued time during waiting periods for workers' compensation claims.
New York S10350 amends the civil service law to allow public employees to use accrued sick time, compensation time, personal time, or vacation time during waiting periods for workers' compensation claims. If it is later determined that no waiting period was required or the employee was entitled to benefits during a controversion period, the employee is entitled to full restoration of the charged time. The provisions do not apply to employees covered by collective bargaining agreements, which may opt in or out of these provisions. The act takes effect immediately.
