Allows certain Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority employees to retire at age 55.
This bill amends the retirement and social security law to reduce the Normal Retirement Age for certain Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority employees. Eligible employees, including bridge and tunnel officers, sergeants, lieutenants, and maintainers, can retire without a reduction for early commencement at age 55. The reduction in retirement age is four months for each complete year of qualifying service earned on or after January 1, 2009. The bill applies to covered employment performed on or before December 31, 2008.
