St. Gelais, police officers in the village of Menands, county of Albany, to receive certain credit under section 384-d of the retirement and social security law. It allows them to apply for reinstatement with the NY state and local police and fire retirement system. The village of Menands will bear the immediate past service cost of $260,000 as a one-time payment. The officers must complete and file applications for tier reinstatement with the NYSLPFRS for service credit to be granted.
