The bill extends the authority of the department of environmental conservation to manage sharks until December 31, 2029. It allows the department to set regulations for size limits, catch and possession limits, open and closed seasons, closed areas, and other restrictions on shark fishing. These regulations must be no less restrictive than requirements set forth in applicable fishery management plans.
