The bill directs the public service commission, in consultation with the New York State energy research and development authority, to establish an agrivoltaics incentive program. This program will support agrivoltaic projects designed to maximize agricultural and environmental co-benefits. Agrivoltaics combines land use for both agricultural production and solar energy generation, allowing agricultural lands to remain in use and helping farmers diversify their income.
