This bill amends the vehicle and traffic law to provide a defense from liability for department of sanitation vehicles in New York City that are standing, stopped, or parked in violation of certain bus lane restrictions. The defense applies if the vehicle operator was an employee of the department of sanitation performing authorized duties. The amendments to the vehicle and traffic law take effect immediately.
