The bill provides tax abatements for building owners in cities with a population of one million or more who complete exterior repairs to covered buildings. A covered building is defined as one making or having made covered repairs. Covered repairs are defined as repairs to the exterior walls of a building required due to an unsafe condition or made to prevent such a condition. Building owners who complete covered repairs and remove associated sidewalk sheds within twelve months are eligible for a property tax abatement.
