This bill establishes confirmatory adoptions for children born as a result of assisted reproduction, allowing more than two persons to be named parents. It provides for the challenge and adjudication of presumed parentage, allowing courts to grant multi-parent adoption petitions. The bill also repeals certain provisions of the domestic relations law and the family court act relating to parentage and adoption. It includes provisions for the preservation of parent-child relationships and the adjudication of competing claims of parentage.
