Directs the metropolitan transportation authority to create a student fare program for City University of New York students.
The bill amends the public authorities law to establish a City University of New York student fare program. This program will provide a full fare reduction for five train and/or bus fares each weekday, equal to the standard pay-per-ride fare. The fare reduction applies between 5:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. on weekdays. Any difference between the standard pay-per-ride fare and the required fare for such service will be paid by the student. The act will take effect on the first of July following its enactment.
