It applies to emergency assistance provided within 60 days after an emergency is declared or 30 days after the applicable official advises the private person, corporation, or entity that the emergency assistance is completed. The act does not apply to persons, corporations, or entities whose negligence or willful misconduct caused the disaster or declared emergency. It also does not affect the rights of individuals to seek workers' compensation insurance or benefits.
