Expands the area outside Montgomery county where a deputy sheriff may reside.
This bill amends the public officers law to allow a deputy sheriff in Montgomery county to reside in Albany, Delaware, Greene, Hamilton, Madison, Oneida, Rensselaer, Warren, or Washington counties. Previously, the deputy sheriff could only reside in Montgomery or an adjoining county. The change takes effect immediately upon enactment.
