New York S08401 amends the education law to expand the qualifications for a dental license. Applicants can now qualify by completing a postdoctoral general practice residency program or an advanced education program in general dentistry, each lasting at least one year. Additionally, applicants may qualify by completing the first year of a multi-year postdoctoral specialty program in a hospital or dental facility accredited by a national accrediting body approved by the department.
